An Apple a Day

Twelve families came to our house Saturday afternoon to celebrate the Fall Equinox with us. We scarfed down delicious dishes, filled our tummies with way too much dessert, and washed it all down with apple breezes and chai. Fierce games of badminton and enthusiastic toddlers in the bounce house resulted in a few (minor injuries). By the end of the night, everyone was exhausted, dirty, and cranky– a great indication that a good time was had by all.

I had so much fun, I forgot to take a single picture. Oh, well. Here’s a photo of my honey crisp apples, which arrived last week.

This morning, we broke out the jackets for the walk-to-school kids, and the leaves are starting to change. I turned on the bedroom fireplace while I jumped in the shower, so that my room was all toasty while I was getting dressed.

I just love Fall.

  1. Twelve families? Wow, that’s a lot of people! LOL. Sounds like you really enjoyed the day – and those apples look delicious! πŸ™‚

  2. Sounds like a great party! I like fall too πŸ™‚ The pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin pies, the holiday mood at work that I will miss this year as I am on maternity leave but oh well, I hopefully won’t be gaining weight πŸ™‚

  3. You captured it – the first break out of jackets, crisp apples fresh from harvest, color changes and friends enjoying it together. Every season has it’s positives but there is something about fall that get’s an extra embrace.

  4. WAITAMINUTE!!! do you have a fireplace in your bedroom? For realz? πŸ˜‰ (hahaha, I’ve never written like that in my life). I hope I can post this, worpress is TRICKY!

Even if it’s just a gas one, it’s still so cool. I mean, warm. πŸ™‚
