There are rarely perfect times to write, but this afternoon comes pretty close. My next-door neighbor had a birthday party for one of her children. We spent the first half of the day there. My husband and kids stayed while I snuck back here to write. I’ve been writing for 2.5 hours, watching the lightening flash in the sky and rain cascade. I’m about to quit and head back, since I’m not sure where the story should go. But it’s been a productive afternoon.
My first issue of Yoga Journal came in the mail today, so I’m going to spend this evening with a mug of tea flipping through a magazine. Warm, sunny weather is a wonderful thing. But sometimes a good long, dreary day comes when you need it most.
