Pride and Prejudice is the book I’ve read more than any other book. I discovered it when I was 14, and then put it on a continuous loop, over and over again, like my favorite mixed tape. It sat on my nightstand– creased cover, dog-eared pages galore. Late at night, I’d put down whatever else I was reading, pick up my worn P & P, and read a few pages just to remind myself what perfect writing was.

The Bennett girls have seen me through teenage angst and final exams and unexpected deaths and law school and marriage. If I was stranded on an island and could only take one book with me, it would be this, my favorite Austen novel.

Happy 200th birthday, Pride and Prejudice!

Yesterday, my first article for ArtsATL was published. It’s a piece about some of Atlanta’s most talented writers, and how they use social media to find their readers and promote their work. Please check it out when you can!

And tomorrow, I’ll be posting the answers to a writing meme! Find out what I’m working on next!
